The Jeker, Geer in French, originates just across the language border and meanders through Tongeren to Maastricht, where it joins the Meuse. The watercourse cuts deep into the sandstone. Along the way, you'll pass marl quarries where the famous 'Maastricht sandstone' has been extracted for many centuries.
