In Tongeren-Borgloon, a tourist tax is levied on overnight stays in tourist accommodation. For stays in accommodation located in buildings, such as hotels, B&Bs and holiday homes, the tax amounts to €2 per person per night for guests over the age of 18. For stays in outdoor accommodation, such as motorhome pitches and tree tents, the tax amounts to €1 per person per night. The tourist tax is collected by the accommodation provider, who is responsible for declaring the tax and remitting it to the City of Tongeren-Borgloon.
