Stroopplein

Wagon after wagon filled with fresh fruit. With a little imagination, you can see them rumbling along the tracks past this former station square in Borgloon. In the late 19th century, the Fruit Track was an important railway line in the region.

Today, the redeveloped Stroopplein and its station pavilion are the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. It’s the ideal base for exploring the area. From here, you can easily explore the network of cycle paths or follow one of the many hiking trails that pass by.
Did you know that you can pump up your bike tyres here? You can also charge your e-bike at one of the charging points. Handy! If you don't have a bike, you can rent one from fietsparadijslimburg.be. Choose the pick-up location 'Fruitbelevingscentrum Stroopfabriek' and your e-bike, children's bike or city bike will be waiting for you. Available from March 15 until October 15.
Tip: from Stroopplein you can follow the now defunct railway line 23, also known as the Fruit Track. There is a cycle route and two walking loops along this trail.
