Scattered throughout the Tongeren-Borgloon landscape, you’ll find numerous contemporary works of art. In the Loon landscape, you’ll find the famous Pit pieces. With the artistic project 'PIT - Art in Public Spaces', the Province of Limburg wants to encourage visitors to look at the area in a special way. In addition to the PIT works of art, you’ll also discover a number of notable landmarks in Borgloon. The contemporary works of art in Plinius Park in Tongeren are part of the project 'the 9th month' and are a nod to the past.

PIT - Reading between the lines
'Reading between the Lines' is a 10-metre, 30-tonne see-through church by the duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh. Made of 100 stacked layers of steel, the landscape remains visible due to its special construction. This makes the church both present and absent in the landscape, depending on the perspective.

Third Paradise
This work was inspired by Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise. He developed a concept that sought harmony between man and nature, symbolised by a renewed infinity sign. The duo Le Prince Evêque translated this philosophy into a work of art featuring three Gallo-Roman burial mounds, one of which contains a reflective mirror.
