This new permanent walking route of 3.8 km brings the rich heritage and hidden history of the region back to life. Along 9 listening points, true Lonenaren take walkers along in ordinary and unusual stories from 'back in the day'. The route will be festively launched during the Loonse Stroopfeesten on Monday 21 April.

A walk full of stories

The Loonse Luister Route takes hikers past historical and recognizable places, from the Syrup Factory to the Roman Cobblestone. Along the way, visitors are immersed in both familiar and forgotten stories. What is the link between Napoleon and Borgloon? How did the Stationsplein once become a logistical hub for the region? How did thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts fall under the spell of the rolling Loonse landscape?
