Diets-Heur has a long history. In ancient times the settlement was situated on the main road between Bavay and Tongeren. Remains of two Roman villas were found.
Today, Diets-Heur is a quiet village that mainly depends on agriculture. In particular, the cultivation of grains takes place here.
