Locks on the Jeker

A nice, cozy holiday home where you can escape from your daily routine with your family or friends.

Sluizen is located in the dry Haspengouw region, in the Jeker valley. This river played a significant role in the development of Sluizen, a farming community with arable farming as its main activity.
The church and farms in Sluizen were built higher than the river, on either side of the valley, against and along the hill known locally as "Moufrand." The fertile farmland is located on top of the plateau. Near the Jeker river, it is very marshy; you are "on the Broek" (the marshland). At 304 hectares, Sluizen is one of the smallest villages in Tongeren.
