The best way to experience the blossoms up close is simply on foot. The range of walks in Tongeren-Borgloon is large. We have therefore selected the most beautiful walks that you should definitely not miss during the blossom period.

Landscape walks 'Via hills and orchards'

Undoubtedly a classic in the blossom walking repertoire are the landscape walks in and around Grootloon. The walks are the blossom hotspot in the heart of the Limburg fruit region. During the walks you will not only pass the blossoming fruit trees, but also the PIT artworks along the way, such as the photogenic 'Reading Between the Lines', are downright charming. Landscape walks 'Picturesque church villages'

Alternate the orchards of the 'landscape walks 'Picturesque church villages ' with quiet church villages and fairytale castles. You will also pass vineyards such as those of the Optimbulles wine estate and the Cuvelier wine estate in Jesseren or the Clos d'Opleeuw wine estate in Gors-Opleeuw. Landscape walks 'Rullingen – Herkbeemden – Mariënlof'

The rich fruit land along the Herk valley treats you to fantastic walks during the blossom season, including Rullingen Castle , Mariënlof Abbey , the PIT artworks and the Syrup Factory. The accompanying walking map is available for €4 at Visit Tongeren-Borgloon.

Fruit walk Kolmont (kid-proof!)

The Fruit Walk in Kolmont is highly recommended during the blossom season. The walking route of about 6 km takes you to the orchards in the historical landscapes of the villages of Kolmont and Piringen and is signposted with signs on which you can find our local fruit mascot Diego. Diego makes the walk extra fun for children because in the accompanying brochure he shares facts and juicy stories about what you will encounter along the way. Walk Widooie

An alternative blossom walk for those who like to seek peace and quiet. Starting in the charming village of Widooie, this walk takes you between the blossoms to 'Widooie Boompje' (popularly known as 'Bedeu Beumke'), an ideal spot to take your blossom insta photo. Bar walk

The Repen walk can be an alternative option for those who would like to experience the blossoms in peace. The fruit plantations, the villages of Riksingen and Overrepen but also square farms such as De Binkelhoeve characterize the Haspengouw blossom landscape along the way.
