In the glass extension of the Gasthuiskapel you can find a new multimedia installation. The Gasthuiskapel is the first stop during a visit to Tongeren-Borgloon. What sights are there? How do I prepare my visit? Where can I eat vegetarian? This interactive touchscreen invites you to get to know what the city has to offer in terms of tourism in a fun way.
And of course our rich past is also part of that. Via the screen 'Tongeren 3D' you take a dive into what was once Roman Tongeren. From the Roman cemetery you fly to the impressive city defense wall and over the aqueduct towards the north. That is where the Roman temple site was located. After a leap in time you enter a richly decorated villa.
In addition to this impressive film, you can view some previously realized 3D animations, part of the Terra Mosana project. These 'walk throughs' take you on a tow through a piece of Roman and early medieval Tongeren.
